Today is #GivingTuesday and your #MACPAC has continued to be busy this holiday season, but today, Emma and Kita had the honor of delivering winter boots to the Interior Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living!
Here’s a little more from Kita who headed up this particular project:
“We had seen the call to action from Interior Alaska Center For Non-Violent Living and that they were in need of women’s winter boots.
As a mother, I know how expensive it can be to outfit my children and also, sometimes as a mother, having good winter gear for yourself goes on the backburner. We wanted to make sure that IAC could supply mothers of Fairbanks with proper winter boots whether they are used to play outside with their children or just making sure they have the appropriate boots to keep in their vehicle in case of an emergency. We were able to donate a total of 10 pairs of boots rated to -25F!”
But wait, there’s more! The giving doesn’t stop there, today. MAC PAC member, Sharon, also had the opportunity visit a couple of the Fairbanks Little Free Pantries here in town.
Giving doesn’t have to be elaborate or even cost you anything. A smile, a small gesture of kindness can make someone’s day. What’s your favorite way to give back?

Earlier this month, #MACPAC members Brenda and Maria went shopping for $1K worth of turkeys and pies to take to the Fairbanks Community Food Bank! This donation ended up totaling 50 turkeys and 75 pies! (Fun fact, the turkeys were so heavy they had to split this up into multiple trips because the extra weight made the vehicle’s sensors unhappy!)
“What is special about what we are doing in our community is that the Food Bank has been so low on food this year due to the pandemic and all of their traditional fundraising events cancelling due to social distancing. This has created a huge need for each of us to donate or step up where we can. It’s nice to be a part of contributing to an organization that gives so much back into the community. These are tough times and we need to come together to do what we can to help out!”
This was another project fully funded by the generosity of MAC Federal Credit Union employees!

Last week we posted a sneak peak to show that #MACPAC wasn’t loafing around - when in fact, loafing around is exactly what has been going on!
Today, it is our absolute pleasure to announce that 52 homemade loaves of bread have been donated to our local Fairbanks Food Bank!
Here’s a little more about this project from one of our MACPAC members, Emma!
“MAC PAC has recognized the extra need throughout the Fairbanks community in the face of COVID-19, and has been eager to help in unique ways. We set a goal to donate 50 loaves of homemade bread to the Food Bank for their Thanksgiving food distribution. Our WHY for this project was to add a little extra personal touch and love into this donation in a time where we are forced to socially distance. It took us 9 days of baking, 65 pounds of flour, 4 bread machines, over 10 hours of volunteer time, and several failed batches(oops!) and we exceeded our goal by donating a total of 52 loaves! It was a fun way to serve others from a safe distance!”
